About

Predominantly trained in contemporary dance, Amalia's creative and technical training has progressed from many years at Bridport Youth Dance (including Our Democracy 2016), joining Exeter Youth Dance Company (Plymouth Fringe Festival 2017) while completing a foundation course in Art and Design at Exeter College (finishing with a distinction 2017), to recently graduating with a First Class BA(Hons) Dance degree from Bath Spa University 2020.

She has worked with and performed in pieces by Kapow Dance Circus Theatre, Lila Dance Company, Impermanence Dance Theatre Company, and Vicki Hearne to name a few. Throughout, her skills have diversified to include physical theatre, contact improvisation, filming and editing, and somatic movement; leading to a versatile practice ranging from performance and choreography to videography. Performance highlights include Bath Fringe Festival 2018, the Holbourne Museum Bath 2019, International Ceramics Festival Aberystwyth 2019, Boomtown Festival 2019 and Spark Fest Digital Bath 2020.

Amalia wishes to continue to explore the realms of performance art, site specific performance, contact improvisation and screendance work. With a great appreciation for music and visual arts, she has felt the fizz during collaborative projects and hopes to progress in the playground where different art forms meet.

Amalia is a South West based dance artist and general creative, with a hunger for play and collaboration.
